US POLO : Winning the Marketplace battle

US Polo Assn. or USPA is the official brand of the United States Polo Association, the governing body for the sport of polo in the United States. USPA merchandise is sold in over 135 countries across brand, department and independent retail stores. In India, Arvind Lifestyle Brand Ltd. is licensed to sell all products in the USPA collection.

Although USPA had been selling online in India for a significant period of time, it had limited representation on the marketplaces. Moreover the online inventory was scattered in silos across all channels and this, coupled with the brand’s decision to stay away from deep discounting, created an seemingly insurmountable challenge to increase sell-through rates.

At this point of time, USPA was looking for a solution which could

  • Enable the brand to maintain control over inventory and pricing across marketplaces
  • Expose their inventory to newer sales channels
  • Increase sell-through and fulfillment rates
